Arrangement of concentrated thermal solar collectors in the context of the implementation of sub-project 7 "ptc upgrade" of the ''prometheus'' project
The system aims to improve the quality and efficiency of parabolic solar devices and is part of research in the field of Energy – Environment – Sustainable Development.
The installation includes the following subsystems:
- Field of Concentrated Thermal Solar Collectors.
- Heat Exchanger, the primary circuit of which is hydraulically connected in series with the field of the Concentrated Thermal Solar Collectors, while the secondary circuit is hydraulically connected to an existing medium temperature heat storage tank (100 to 300 oC).
- Air cooled heat dissipation device (Dry Cooler) which is hydraulically connected to the existing heat storage tank.
- Electric heater of 30 kW power as an auxiliary power source, connected to the existing storage tank.
- Hydraulic circuit which allows the transfer of heat from the parabolic collectors to the heat storage tank and the discharge of stored heat from the storage tank to the environment with the help of the heat dissipation device (dry cooler) and properly configured filling and discharge installation for the hydraulic circuit with oil storage tank, open expansion tank and 2 inversion tanks.
- Electrical installation to support all the functions of the individual subsystems.
The whole device was installed and delivered fully operational under the responsibility of our company GSE in the surrounding outdoor area of EH-ES / NCSR DEMOCRITOS, in Agia Paraskevi, Attica.
