Development of the first energy-autonomous hydrogen refueling station (HRS) in Greece

Development of the first energy-autonomous hydrogen refueling station (HRS) in Greece, in which hydrogen is produced utilizing renewable energy sources and will be used for fueling standard hydrogen-powered vehicles developed for this purpose. It is the first HRS to incorporate exclusively thermal compression technology without any moving mechanical parts (and therefore silent), with extremely low electricity requirement. The system is based on the use of special materials as well as relatively cheap available thermal energy (from typical thermal solar panels and / or from waste industrial heat). GLOBAL SOL ENERGY designed and installed the heating and cooling parts of the hydrogen compression unit, in order to optimize the thermal compression process at the above refueling station.
